Gaming Headset

Post by igloo » Mon Jan 27, 2014 12:27 pm

Hey gents,

Do you guys have any opinions on the best Gaming Headset to use? I'm primarily concerned with Cost versus Comfort over a long period. I have a headset that I use for work calls and if it's on my head for more than an hour my ears begin to ache.

This is basically what I have: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 27172555:s

I'm not interested in another one of those. It's fine for work, but I definitely need something that's lighter on the ears for longer periods of time.

I've had Steelseries 5Hv2's for a LONG time... (on my second set). It's a pretty comfortable setup.

They're now on 5Hv3 now... $64 from steelseries directly, so maybe cheaper on newegg?

Siberia's are supposed to be really good and comfortable, but never really gave them much consideration.

Thanks for the feedback Gate. I'm definitely looking for a pair of headphones that are under $100. I did find this review site:

I really like the look of the Razer Krakens... but their range is kind of shitty. The best bet definitely looks like the SteelSeries H-Series.

I pulled the trigger on the Steelseries 5Hv3. I like the price and the stats on it, and it doesn't look too shabby. I also bit and bought a new mousepad. I've been using the same fairly beat-up pad that I got when doing a German exchange program when I was 15 heh.
